The Manila Lions ran out to a 34-6 first-quarter lead and went on to defeat Hoxie 86-37 in senior boys basketball action Friday night at Manila.
Manila led 58-10 at halftime and 76-24 after three quarters.
Coy Yasler scored 10 points, and Hunter Flippo added nine for Hoxie, who was playing without point guard Zach Crisler.
Manila's junior high boys defeated Hoxie 45-37.
The Southside Southerners defeated the senior Mustangs 46-44 in the George Kell Classic on Thursday at Swifton.
Coy Yasler led the Mustangs with 20 points.
Hoxie Mustangs exploded for 40 points in the second half to pull away from Piggott for a 69-46 victory in senior boys basketball on Jan. 4 at Hoxie.
The teams were tied 29-29 at halftime, before the Mustangs opened up a 44-37 lead after three quarters. Hoxie then outscored the Mohawks 25-9 in the fourth quarter to take the win.
Crisler and Jacob Defries each scored 20 points to lead Hoxie, while Yasler followed with 18 points.
In junior boys action, Hoxie defeated Piggott 45-32.
