JPs give funds for Chamber

At the suggestion of new County Judge Dale Freeman, the Quorum Court approved appropriating an additional $5,000 per year, bringing the total to $10,000, dedicated to the Chamber of Commerce in support of hiring a part-time individual qualified to work on economic development.

Montgomery to lead Chamber

Mike Montgomery, owner of Goin' Postal in Walnut Ridge was recently elected to serve as chairman for the Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce.

For new County Judge Dale Freeman the answer to moving Lawrence County forward is simple - jobs.

Airport employees to receive raise

Walnut Ridge Airport employees will receive a 50-cent-an-hour raise on their next paychecks. Airport manager Mitch Whitmire asked airport commissioners for a raise for airport personnel at Monday night's meeting, and they voted in favor of the salary increase. Whitmire's salary will stay the same.
