Kaylee Elizabeth and Caden Riley Deese

Heath and Kamala Deese of Walnut Ridge have announced the birth of twins, a daughter and a son, born on Dec. 13, 2010, at the Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock.

Kaylee Elizabeth weighed 2 pounds, 15 ounces, and Caden Riley weighed three pounds, 10 ounces.

The twins have an older brother, Braden, five.

Grandparents are Robert and Brenda Denison and Rochelle Deese, all of Walnut Ridge, and Micheal Deese of Mountain View. Great-grandparents are Bill and Wanda Denison of Walnut Ridge and Leroy Deese of Mountain View.

Obituaries

Roger Dale Ball

Roger Dale Ball, 67, of O'Kean, died Dec. 24, 2010, at St. Bernards in Jonesboro.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War and had lived in Tennessee before moving to O'Kean six years ago. He was an alderman for the City of O'Kean, a forklift salesman and was of the Baptist belief.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Sadie Lairson Ball.

Survivors include his wife, Paulette Ball; two daughters, Stacy Patrick, Walnut Ridge, and Khristina Arnold, Lake Wales, Fla.; a sister, Blanche Deatherage, Greenfield, Mo.; six brothers, David Ball, Walter Lee Ball, Ray Ball and Alton Ball, all of O'Kean, Joe Ball, Forney, Texas, and V.J. Ball, Paragould; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at the O'Kean Free Will Baptist Church with Rick Hart and Jeral Dean officiating. Burial will be in Sharum Cemetery at O'Kean under the direction of House-Gregg Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Daniel Ball, Lee Ball, Vance Ball, Randall Deatherage, Jerry Deatherage and Billy Deatherage. Honorary pallbearers will be Terry Deatherage, Dennis Ball, Matthew Sprague, Eddie Hill, John Flanney, Johnny Ball, Shane Ball and Tom Chambliss.

Visitation is tonight from 5:30-8 p.m. at House-Gregg Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge.

Delbert Lee Boyd

Delbert Lee Boyd, 66, of Horseshoe Bend, died Dec. 24, 2010, at his home.

Born May 25, 1944, at Sedgwick, he was a welder and a member of Myron Community Church.

He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Boyd; a sister, Virginia Mae Boyd; and a grandson, Malcolm Boyd.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Rose Boyd; a son, Wayne Boyd, Horseshoe Bend; three daughters, Elizabeth "Lisa" Herrin, Danielle Smith and Ashley Coffey, all of Horseshoe Bend; his mother, Mary Magdalene Jones Boyd, Jonesboro; a brother, Dean Boyd, Jonesboro; two sisters, Joyce Williams and Edna Boyd, both of Jonesboro; four grandchildren, Devin Greenwood, Nikki Boyd, Junior Adams and Josh Adams; and a great-grandchild.

Funeral is today at 2 p.m. at Qualls Funeral Home in Cave City. Burial will be in Marvin Cemetery near Calamine.

Visitation is today from noon until time of the service.

Nephews will serve as pallbearers.

Rowena C. Damon

Rowena Carolyn "Cissie" Damon, 76, of Imboden, died Dec. 23, 2010, at St. Bernards in Jonesboro.

Born Feb. 1, 1934, at Huffman, she was the daughter of Reginald and Louise Hughes.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard Hughes and Mike Hughes; a sister, Regina Warrington; and a great-granddaughter, Emma Gale Noblitt.

Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Bob Damon; three children, Rodney Damon, Little Rock, Carmen Dunning, Imboden, and James Damon, Pocahontas; a brother, Larry Hughes, Tishomingo, Miss.; four sisters, Barbara Jinkins, Bradford, Tenn., Juanita Hannon, Blytheville, Bonita Hughes, Springdale, and Laura Lynn, Rector; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral was Tuesday at 1 p.m. at McNabb Funeral Home in Pocahontas. Burial was in Hope Cemetery.

Joseph Leslie Foster

Joseph Leslie "Les" Foster, 97, of Hoxie, died Dec. 22, 2010, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

Born April 2, 1913, in Missouri, he was the son of Dorsey and Mary Elizabeth Emmerich Foster. He lived in Lawrence County most of his life and was self-employed. He was a member of Free Street Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Carmel Foster; a son, Joseph Foster Jr.; two sisters, Deloris Foster and Mary Ellen Tretenburg; and two brothers, Dorsey Lewis and William Edward Tretenburg.

Survivors include a daughter, Nova Dobbs, Hoxie; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral was Monday at 2 p.m. at House-Gregg Funeral Home with Don House officiating. Burial was in Lawrence Memorial Park.

Pallbearers were Larry Dobbs, Eddie Foster, Roger Foster, Trey Foster, David Dobbs and Tillman Foster. Honorary pallbearers were Eldon Medlock and friends from the round table at Ole Hickory

Memorials may be made to the Childrens Home in Paragould.

Jane High

Jane Poe High, 78, of Bono, died Dec. 25, 2010, at her home.

Born Feb. 12, 1932, in Walnut Ridge, she was the daughter of Cleo Poe and Roxie Sammons Poe Miles. She was a cook, waitress and caregiver. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen McQuay and Nina Poe.

Survivors include two daughters, Donna Cockrell Wade and Patti Floyd, both of Bono; three brothers, Sam Poe and wife Mary, Walcott, Ray Poe and wife Sandy, Bono, and Dennis Poe, Paragould; two sisters, Nilla Vaughn and husband L.E., Ash Flat, and Bobbie Ann Jones and husband Robbie, Trumann; three grandchildren, Wesley Dean Wade, John Beecher Floyd and Sara Jane Benson; and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral is today at 1 p.m. at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home in Jonesboro with Mark Poe officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Wesley Wade, John Floyd, Matt Benson, Rodney Poe, Shane Russell and Gary Poe. Honorary pallbearers will be Kevin Wagner, Carrie Cash Wade, Tom Escue, Sara Benson, Mike Escue and Joe Escue.

Eddie Joe Mann

Eddie Joe Mann, 53, of Horn Lake, Miss., died Dec. 26, 2010.

Born March 1, 1957, in Walnut Ridge, he was a former truck driver for H.B. Phillips, Inc. and was a member of the Horn Lake First Assembly of God Church.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Edward Mann; and his grandparents, Theodore Mann, Ethel Mann, Melvin Thompson and Helen Thompson.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra Bradley Mann; a son, Bubba J. Mann and wife Charalle, Horn Lake, Miss.; a daughter, Allison Mann Vines and husband Shane, Horn Lake; his mother, Joanna Thompson Mann, Batesville, Miss.; two sisters, Marilyn Mann, Batesville, Miss., and Renee Powers, Greers Ferry; and two grandchildren, Bubba Dawson Mann and Savannah Kristen Mann.

Funeral is today at 2 p.m. at Jackson's Newport Funeral Home with Rev. David Smith officiating. Burial will be in Dowell's Chapel Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jerry McElroy, Roger Thompson, Marty Lane, Harvey Newell, Myfis Wims and Joe Gillespie. Honorary pallbearer will be Gene Smith.

Tom Osborne

Tom Osborne, 75, of Powhatan, died Dec. 22, 2010, in Walnut Ridge.

He had lived in Lawrence County for the past 20 years and was a retired electrical engineer. He was a member of the Lions Club and was of the Methodist belief.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Elizabeth Chadwick Osborne; and a son, Thomas Osborne Jr.

Survivors include his wife, Edna Osborne; a daughter, Terri Lynn Brown, Alva, Okla.; three brothers, James Osborne, Zionsville, Ind., Gary Osborne, Greensboro, N.C., and Robert Osborne, Parker, Colo.; and three grandchildren, Ashley Brown, Blake Brown and Elana Osborne.

Funeral was Tuesday at 11 a.m. at House-Gregg Funeral Home with Chris Whitehead officiating. Burial was in Old Lebanon Cemetery near Eaton.

Ruby Bernice Pinkston

Ruby Bernice Pinkston, 91, of Rockford, Ill., died Dec. 21, 2010, in Rockford.

Born June 22, 1919, in the Richwoods community, she was the daughter of Jim and Minnie Bellah Hurn. She moved to Rockford in 1951, where she worked for Hudson Manufacturing and Edward's Bakery. She and her husband also farmed near Shirland, Ill., for many years.

She was preceded in death by three brothers and a grandchild.

Survivors include her husband of 72 years, Henry Harrison Pinkston, whom she married Nov. 5, 1938, in Walnut Ridge; two daughters, Barbara Stieg and husband Ed, South Beloit, Ill., and Sandra Maurer and husband David, Durand, Ill.; a son, Garry Pinkston and fiancˇe Toni, Rockford, Ill.; 10 grandchildren, Gary Edward Stieg, Terry Stieg, Vicki De Berry, Todd Stieg, Mark Pinkston, Ronda Baker, Robin Krupke, Anessa Morrow, Charity Velez and Henry Pinkston; 15 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Funeral was Monday at 11 a.m. at Julian-Poorman-Welte Funeral Home in Rockford, Ill., with Rev. Dale Spurlock officiating. Burial was in Shirland Cemetery.

Celeste Tate

Celeste Jean Tate, 69, of Walnut Ridge, died Dec. 23, 2010, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

Born Aug. 5, 1941, in Walnut Ridge, she was a homemaker and a lifetime member of White Oak Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Cletus Tate, on Nov. 23, 1990, whom she married July 2, 1956; her parents, Carl and Imogene Smith Marlin; two brothers, Carla Dean Marlin and Ellis Wayne Marlin; an infant sister; and a nephew, Norman Marlin.

Survivors include two sons, Mark Tate and wife Christine and Chris Tate and wife Cindy, all of Walnut Ridge; two daughters, Cleta Romine and husband Terry, Fort Stewart, Ga., and Nedra Goff and husband Charles, Smithville; four sisters, Ricca Brady and husband Darrell and Rochelle Deese, all of Walnut Ridge, Vivian Pruett and husband Kelley, Hoxie, and Kathy Bennett and husband Reggie, Paragould; a brother, Keith Marlin and wife Anita, Walnut Ridge; five grandchildren, Erick Tate, Shelly Watson, Angela Burrow, Nicole Tate Bibb and C.J. Tate; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral was Monday at 2 p.m. at Bryan Funeral Home with Bros. Robert Foster and Bob McMillon officiating. Burial was in Lawrence Memorial Park.

Pallbearers were Erick Tate, Erik Watson, C.J. Tate, Clent Burrow, Jarrod Brady and Greg Brady. Honorary pallbearers were Scott Brady, Heath Deese, Phillip Roark, Darren McVay, Caleb Watson, Jimmy Glidewell, David Burrow, Brogan Tate, Brad Brown and Ross Rainwater.

Jamae Lorree Tennison

Jamae Lorree Tennison, 70, of Walnut Ridge, died Dec. 26, 2010, at Lawrence Hall Nursing Center.

A lifelong resident of Lawrence County, she was a beautician and a restaurant operator.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Tennison, in 2006; a son, Donnie Tennison; and her parents, James Wilson and Evelyn Anderson Richey.

Survivors include two sons, Steve Tennison and wife Louan, Alma, and Bobby Tennison, Walnut Ridge; six brothers, Cloyce Richey and Tim Richey, both of Walnut Ridge, Randall Richey, Russellville, Jerry Richey, Wilburn, Danny Richey, Heber Springs, and Gale Richey, Springfield, Mo.; and six grandchildren, Tyler Tennison, Cramer Tennison, Molly Tennison, Peyton Tennison, Eli Tennison and Hannah Tennison.

Funeral is today at 10 a.m. at House-Gregg Funeral Home with Steve Tennison and Joel McMasters officiating. Burial will be in Strangers Home Cemetery at Alicia.

Brothers will serve as pallbearers.

Kathleen Warnick

Kathleen Iona Warnick, 76, of Hoxie, died Dec. 22, 2010, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

Born Dec. 7, 1934, she was the daughter of Felix and Claudie Maxie Golden. She was a former seamstress for Lawrence Manufacturing and a member of Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church in Walnut Ridge.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Bob Golden and Felix Golden Jr.; and a sister, Nina Golden.

Survivors include her husband, Chester Warnick, whom she married Jan. 6, 1956; two daughters, Pam Johnson and husband Ron, Walnut Ridge, and Sharon Hickman and husband Gordon, Imboden; a brother, Howard Golden, Hoxie; five sisters, Ruth Arnn, Cave City, Wilma Guntharp and husband Garland, Hoxie, Ann Jackson and husband Joe, Lonoke, Betty Sue Dunham and husband Larry, Walnut Ridge, and Carolyn Allen and husband Warner, Black Rock; three grandchildren, Derek Johnson, Alyssa Johnson and Jake Hickman; and a great-grandchild, Lilly Johnson.

Funeral was Friday at 10 a.m. at Bryan Funeral Home with Bros. Joel McMasters and Warner Allen officiating. Burial was in Lawrence Memorial Park.

Pallbearers were Derek Johnson, Jake Hickman, Rodney Patterson, Mitch Sharp, Brian Hart and Dennis Guntharp.
