NEA Tourney begins today

The NEA Tournament gets underway today at the Convocation Center in Jonesboro, with several Lawrence County teams in action.

The Sloan-Hendrix boys will play the tourney's first game when they take on Rector at 9 a.m.

In other boys games, Walnut Ridge will face Tuckerman at 3 p.m. and Hillcrest will play Crowley's Ridge Academy at 4:30.

The Black Rock boys received a first-round bye and will play Thursday at 4:30 p.m. against the Walnut Ridge-Tuckerman winner.

In girls action, the Sloan-Hendrix Lady Greyhounds will play Cedar Ridge this morning at 10:30. Two county teams will square off when Walnut Ridge plays Black Rock at 6 p.m.

The Hillcrest Lady Screamin' Eagles received a first-round bye and will begin play Thursday at 10:30 a.m. against the Sloan-Hendrix - Cedar Ridge winner.

Quarterfinal games in the A-AA-AAA brackets will be played on Monday, followed by the semifinals on Dec. 29. The finals are scheduled for Dec. 31.
