Hoxie girls beat Earle, CorningNathan Hibbard
The Hoxie Lady Mustangs basketball team received a win by forfeit against Earle Thursday night.
Hoxie was leading the Lady Bulldogs 40-24 with two minutes remaining in the third quarter when the Earle coach took her team off the court following a technical foul being called on one of the Earle players. The officials then awarded the win to Hoxie.
The Lady Mustangs improved to 6-2 in 3A-3 conference play and 9-3 overall.
The Lady Mustangs defeated Corning 70-64 on Dec. 13 at Hoxie. Hoxie led 17-15 at the end of the first quarter, 34-28 at halftime and 48-45 after three quarters.
Cayley Rosson led Hoxie with 34 points. Kelsey Lewis scored 13 points, including four three-pointers, and Autumn Nelson added 10 points.
