Hillcrest sweeps S-H

The Hillcrest Lady Screamin' Eagles defeated Sloan-Hendrix 56-28 in senior girls basketball Dec. 14 at Lynn.

Hillcrest was led by Samantha Blevins and Kelli Beasley with 12 points each.

Madicyn Huddleston led Sloan-Hendrix with 10 points.

The Hillcrest junior high girls defeated Sloan-Hendrix 47-14.

An 18-3 advantage in the third quarter proved to be the difference for Hillcrest, as the Screamin' Eagles edged Sloan-Hendrix 51-50.

The Greyhounds led 18-9 after one quarter, and 31-22 at halftime before falling behind 40-34 entering the final period.

For Sloan-Hendrix, Tyler Gillean finished with 21 points and 13 rebounds. Daniel Rowsey and Tyler Booth each scored seven points. Zach Brown and Lucas Conrad added six points apiece. Andrew Young had two points, and Steven Ward added one.
