WRHS Student Council
hosts Winter Ball

Walnut Ridge High School hosted its annual Winter Ball Saturday night in Van Ellis Cafetorium. "A Walk Through Wonderland" was the theme of the event hosted by the WRHS Student Council and advisor Stacy Rice.

At 6:15 p.m., couples began arriving at the ball and walked through a receiving line consisting of the WRHS Student Council president, last year's king and queen, school administrators and school board members.

A grand march was held beginning at 7 p.m. Student Council President Rob Rainwater and Caroline Kelley and last year's king and queen, Eric Wilcoxson and Ashley Roacho, led the grand march. Each couple was spotlighted as they entered the stage and walked down the steps to the dance floor.

Later in the evening, the winter ball royalty was announced. Steven Jackson and Makenzie Britton were named king and queen. Steven is the son of Steve and Paula Jackson, and Makenzie is the daughter of Keith and Ginger Britton.

Christin Holsapple and Richie Ward were named first runners-up. Christin is the daughter of Andy and Meridith Holsapple, and Richie is the son of Richard and Michelle Ward.

Amanda Emison and Eric Huff were named second runners-up. Amanda is the daughter of Charles and Sonya Lee of Walnut Ridge and Mike and Debbie Emison of Smithville. Eric is the son of Christina Ward.

Brooke Midgett and Range Weeks were named third runners-up. Brooke is the daughter of daughter of Cathy and John Gonzales of Walnut Ridge and Jeff and Rhonda Midgett of Knob. Range is the son of Fred and Susan Weeks.
