Grandparents' corner

Evan Allan Thomas, born Nov. 16, 2010, and Ethan Penn Thomas, two, are the children of Chris and Sarah Penn Thomas of Jonesboro.

Grandparents are David and Dana Penn of Hoxie and Frank and Cleo Thomas of Jonesboro. They are the great-grandsons of Bill and Jo Davis of Lynn.

Frankly speaking...

It is always gratifying to see people and organizations recognized for the work they do for the betterment of Lawrence County. Thank you goes to the Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce for providing this recognition Thursday night at the annual Chamber banquet.

Recognized were Dr. Brett Cooper and Joyce Rose, Lawrence County's Man and Woman of the Year, along with Michelle Culbreath and Diana Shelton, recipients of the Community Service Award. West Machine Inc./Iron Mountain Metal Works was named Industry of the Year, and Hays was named Business of the Year. Representing those institutions were Danny West and David Snyder, respectively. continued...
