Hoxie boys split games with ManilaNathan HibbardStaff Writer The Manila Lions remained undefeated on the season with a 75-48 victory over the Hoxie Mustangs in 3A-3 senior boys basketball action Friday night at Hoxie. Manila led 18-7 after the first quarter, but the Mustangs trimmed the visitors' lead to 34-27 at halftime. The Lions outscored Hoxie 22-12 in the third period to carry a 56-39 lead into the final quarter. Zach Crisler led Hoxie with 22 points. Coy Yasler scored 13 points, while Devin Roberts added seven points and grabbed eight rebounds. In the junior boys contest, Hoxie jumped out to a 19-4 first-quarter lead en route to a 56-43 victory. The junior Mustangs led 30-19 at halftime and 40-26 after three quarters. Slade Sullens led Hoxie with 23 points. Hunter Keeling had 11 points, and Robert Vaughn scored seven.
The Hoxie seventh-grade boys defeated Tuckerman 27-21 Saturday morning. Martin Crisler scored 14 points, and Tanner Sullens had six for the junior Mustangs.
