Manley speaks at Chamber
banquet, awards presented

Steve Manley, CEO of Universal Assets Management, addressed attendees of the Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce Banquet Thursday night.

Manley shared information about the multi-faceted company and how it has developed through the years. The disassembly that takes place at the Walnut Ridge plant, is just a small part of the services offered by UAM, which is headquartered in Memphis.

"We have to be all things to all people in the industry," Manley said.

Magee in 26th year at Williams

Dr. Bob Magee, chair of the music department and director of choral activities at Williams Baptist College, will again direct the Northeast Arkansas Chorale and The Williams Singers' annual Christmas concert on, Saturday, Dec. 4, at 7 p.m. in Manley Chapel at Williams Baptist College. For him, it is a labor of love.

Santa letter deadline
scheduled for Dec. 10

The Times Dispatch will print letters from children to Santa in the Dec. 22 edition.

Tourism Committee awards platinum to Wests

Danny and Cara West have earned a platinum record on the Rock 'n' Roll Highway. And if a fund-raising effort in Lawrence County goes according to plan, there will be a lot more platinum, gold and silver records to follow.
