BR splits with S-HNathan Hibbard
The Black Rock Lady Zebras used a balanced scoring attack to defeat the Sloan-Hendrix Lady Greyhounds 45-41 in senior girls basketball action on Nov. 9 at Imboden.
Black Rock led 16-11 after one quarter, then used an 11-5 advantage in the second period to move out to a 27-16 halftime lead.
Sloan-Hendrix fought back in the third quarter, outscoring the Lady Zebras 12-5 to close the gap to 32-28 at the end of the period. The teams battled to a standoff in the fourth quarter, as the Lady Zebras took the win.
Haley Slusser led Black Rock with 14 points, while Christian Ervin and Sarah Penn added 10 apiece.
Kathryn Hall led Sloan-Hendrix with a game-high 15 points, and Madicyn Huddleston had 11.
The Sloan-Hendrix junior Lady Greyhounds defeated Black Rock 32-17.
The junior Lady Greyhounds led just 8-5 after one quarter, but outscored Black Rock 18-5 in the second and third periods to pull away.
Britney Wolfe had 18 points for the Lady Hounds, and Ariel Malone added six.
Cheyenne Vance led Black Rock with 12 points.
