Lady Hounds drop gamesNathan HibbardStaff Writer Viola defeated Sloan-Hendrix 52-23 in senior girls basketball Thursday at Imboden. Michala Stacy scored five points, and Shayla Dickson added four for Sloan-Hendrix. The Lady Greyhounds dropped to 0-2 in 1A-2 North conference play and 1-5 overall. Viola won the junior high girls' contest 40-32 despite a 25-point performance from Sloan-Hendrix's Britney Wolfe. The junior Lady Greyhounds got off to a good start, trailing only 8-7 at the end of the first quarter. The Lady Hounds were outscored 26-8 in the middle portion of the game, before staging a fourth-quarter rally, outscoring Viola 17-6 in the final period. "I feel that our girls are starting to understand more and more every game, and they continue to work hard together and will grow every game that we play," said head coach Scott Nichols.
Maynard's Lady Tigers defeated Sloan-Hendrix 61-53 in senior girls action Nov. 2 at Maynard. Shayla Dickson scored 15 points to lead Sloan-Hendrix. Sloan-Hendrix won a junior girls game 41-30.
