LawCo. election results announced

Lawrence County voters decided several races during Tuesday's General and Municipal Election, according to unofficial results released by Lawrence County Clerk Tina Stowers.

The county experienced a 45 percent voter turnout with 4,712 of the 10,392 registered voters casting ballots in the election.

Democrat Alex Latham was elected as justice of the peace for District 9 with 315 votes (66.6 percent), compared to 158 votes (33.4 percent) for Republican Lloyd Clark.

Smith to lead LHNC

Lawrence Hall Nursing Center residents and staff members were all smiles on Tuesday, Oct. 26, as Linda Smith became as the new administrator.

Clinic response down from last year

The Lawrence County Health Department hosted its annual mass flu clinic on Wednesday, Oct. 27, at the Walnut Ridge Community Center.

Manley to speak at Chamber banquet

Steve Manley, CEO of Universal Asset Management, Inc., will be the keynote speaker at the Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce's annual banquet on Nov. 18 at 6:30 p.m. in the Moody Room at Williams Baptist College.
