Senior Mustangs fall to Harrisburg

A one-sided third quarter led to a 42-27 loss for the Hoxie Mustangs at Harrisburg Friday night.

Sebastian Irvin connected with Cody Treadaway on a 13-yard pass for the first points of the game as Hoxie took a 6-0 lead. Harrisburg answered with a one-yard run by Kelton Costner to tie the game. Both extra-point attempts failed.

Harrisburg struck first in the second quarter with a Davis touchdown pass to Landon Meilke and a successful two-point conversion to take a 14-6 lead with 1:19 left in the half. Hoxie matched the Hornets, completing a 59-yard drive in 55 seconds. Irvin connected with Kenny Mashburn on a 36-yard pass for the score and ran the two-point conversion to tie the game at the half.

Lady Mustangs beat Cave City

The Lady Mustangs finished regular season play with a victory over Cave City on Oct. 18. Hoxie won the match, 17-25, 25-19, 24-26, 25-23, 15-11.
