election Tuesday

Lawrence County voters will cast ballots on Tuesday in the General Election, as well as for local municipal offices.

Hoxie seeks bids for chassis only

The Hoxie City Council held a special meeting on Oct. 19 to discuss the purchase of a new sanitation truck.

WBC's Swaim shares good news

Williams Baptist College's enrollment showed a 10 percent increase over last year, and the total enrollment is the highest number since the fall of 1970. Dr. Jerol Swaim, president of Williams Baptist College in Walnut Ridge, shared these and other news highlights with members of the Kiwanis Club of Walnut Ridge on Thursday.

Copelands offer haunted fun

Trick-or-treaters are guaranteed a Halloween treat on Saturday at the Copelands' residence at the corner of Southwest Third and West Pine streets in Walnut Ridge. Aubrey "Sarge" and Ralphaine Copeland have been spreading the holiday cheer since 2005, when they moved to Walnut Ridge from Lynn.
