The Lions got on the board first when Dillon Burrow tossed a six-yard scoring pass to Brian Borden, giving Manila a 6-0 lead with 3:52 to play in the first quarter.
Hoxie wasted little time responding, as Irvin connected with Cody Treadaway for a 61-yard touchdown on the Mustangs ensuing possession. Lucas Hoffstead kicked the extra point for a 7-6 Hoxie lead with 3:08 left in the opening period.

Westside was unable to slow down Walnut Ridge's ground game, as the Bobcats rolled over the Warriors 40-12 in front of a homecoming crowd Friday night at Sexton Field.continued...
Lady Cats complete season with wins
The Walnut Ridge senior high volleyball team concluded the 2010 season with a pair of wins last week. The Lady Bobcats outlasted Pocahontas in a hotly contested five-game match on Oct. 11, and defeated Harrisburg in a three-game sweep on Oct. 12.continued...
