Hoxie golfers qualify for state

The men's and women's golf teams at Hoxie High School recently completed the 2010 season. This year marked the first season Hoxie has competed in golf since 2006.

The Lady Mustangs participated in the 3A-4 conference match at Piggott on Sept. 17. Sophomore Sarah Green led the Lady Mustangs' effort with a nine-hole score of 66, which qualified her to participate in the 3A State Tournament held at Fairfield Bay on Sept. 27. She was the first Lady Mustang to ever qualify for state.

The men's team competed in the 3A-4 District Tournament at Piggott, on Sept. 21. Zach Crisler shot a 97, and Brad Harp shot 98 to lead the Mustangs. Crisler's score qualified him to compete in the 3A State Tournament at Fairfield Bay on Oct. 4.
