Bobcat golf team advances to state

The Walnut Ridge High School golf team concluded the 2010 season with an eighth place finish at the Class 2A State Tournament on Oct. 4 at Horsehoe Bend.

The Bobcats earned a berth in the State Tournament with a runner-up finish at the district tournament. Rob Rainwater shot an 85 to place second in individual competition at district.

"Qualifying for the state tournament was a goal of ours, and I am very proud of this team for accomplishing that goal, especially since we were without a home course to play on this year," said Walnut Ridge golf coach Derek Bramlett.
