Hoxie splits with PiggottNathan Hibbard
The Hoxie Lady Mustangs hosted conference rival Piggott in volleyball action on Thursday.
Hoxie won the senior high match in five games. The Lady Mustangs won the first two games 25-22 and 25-14. Piggott came back to win the next two games, 25-22 and 25-23. Hoxie took the fifth game 15-12 to earn the victory.
Alyssa Coggins was 10-of-10 from the service line, with 15 digs, 12 kills and two blocks. Devine Wilson had 11 digs, four kills and a block. Kelsey Lewis had six digs, eight kills and two blocks. Brianna Liscomb was seven-of-seven serving, with three aces and 13 kills. Maddison Woodard had seven kills and three blocks, and Amanda Whaley had 38 assists.
Piggott won the junior high match 25-23, 25-13.
Courtney Sears was nine-of-nine serving, with two digs and three kills. Grace Hall and Maria Fry each had a kill. Krista VanKirk was nine-of-nine serving and had four assists.
The junior and senior high teams each won their matches against Harrisburg on Sept. 13 at Hoxie.
Hoxie swept the senior high match 25-21, 25-18, 25-19.
Coggins was 13-of-13 from the line, with seven digs and three kills. Sarah Manis had eight digs and an assist. Lewis was eight-of-eight serving, with two aces, five digs, 15 kills and three blocks. Liscomb had 13 kills and a block. Woodard was 11-of-12 serving, with two aces and two blocks. Ward had nine digs, five kills and two blocks. Whaley added 25 assists.
The junior Lady Mustangs defeated Harrisburg 25-9, 25-14.
Sears had five kills, while Hall and Fry each had two kills. Madalyn Barker had a kill and two assists. VanKirk had six assists. Katie Lawson had three kills, and Zoe Wilfond had two assists.
