Offenses busy in

East Poinsett County's Warriors outscored Walnut Ridge 54-35 in an offensive shootout Friday night at Lepanto to hand the Bobcats their first loss of the season.
Walnut Ridge got on the board first on a six-yard pass from Payton Poole to Richie Ward on the Bobcats' first possession of the game.
EPC responded with touchdowns on their next two possessions, as quarterback Darius Barnes scored on runs of 59 and 51 yards to give the Warriors a 14-6 lead after one quarter.
Following a scoreless second period, EPC extended its lead on a five-yard run by A.J. Turner on the opening drive of the second half. Byron Ford added the two-point conversion to give the Warriors a 22-6 advantage.
Walnut Ridge answered with a touchdown when Poole connected with Ward again, this time from 19 yards out. The two-point conversion brought the Bobcats to within 22-14.
Barnes broke free for a 55-yard score on the Warriors' next possession and the conversion gave EPC a 30-14 lead. Walnut Ridge's Teague Phillips scored on a two-yard run on the final play of the third period. The two-point conversion cut EPC's advantage to 30-22 heading into the fourth quarter.
Ford scored on a 13-yard run and then ran in the two-point conversion to give EPC a 38-22 lead with 8:26 to play in the game. Walnut Ridge struck back on their next possession when Preston Matthews broke loose for a 39-yard touchdown to bring Walnut Ridge to within 38-28.
Ford found the end zone again for an 11-yard score with 6:03 to play. Turner ran in the conversion, making the score 46-28 in the Warriors' favor.
After stopping the Bobcats on downs, EPC added their final touchdown of the game on a one-yard run by Dray Young. Barnes passed to Cayne Tyler for the conversion, giving the Warriors a 54-28 lead.
Eric Wilcoxson scored on a five-yard run on the Walnut Ridge's final possession. Alex Williams kicked the PAT for the game's final points.
Matthews led Walnut Ridge on the ground, with 157 yards on 15 carries. Wilcoxson finished with 75 yards on 13 carries.
Poole completed 10-of-18 passes for 164 yards and two touchdowns.
Matthews also led the Bobcats' defense with 14 tackles.
Walnut Ridge fell to 1-1 in 2A-3 conference play and 2-1 overall. The Bobcats host McCrory Friday night at 7 p.m.
