Watson is candidate for mayor

Christie Watson is a candidate for the office of Hoxie mayor. In a statement to The TD she stated the following:

"I have been a resident of Hoxie all my life and graduated from Hoxie High School in 1994. I have been married to David Watson for 16 years and have one son, Jacob K. Watson, who attends Hoxie School.

"I started working in the restaurant business with my mother by getting a work permit at 12 years old, and I am still working hard in the restaurant business. My husband worked two jobs in the aviation industry for five years - one at Raytheon Hawker Beechcraft Services in Little Rock and the second at Universal Asset Management in Walnut Ridge, where he is still working.

"I am just one of you. We work hard to take care of our family. Our neighbors are not just neighbors; they are just like family. If I am elected mayor of Hoxie, I will work hard for the city of Hoxie, and I promise you that we are all equal.

"It will not only take the mayor of Hoxie to change Hoxie, it will take you, the citizens of Hoxie, to make that change. Your opinions should and will be heard. I would appreciate your vote in November."
