Hoxie Elementary has new facesFour new teachers have joined the faculty at Hoxie Elementary School.Randal Puckett, a native of West Plains, Mo., is teaching fourth grade literacy and social studies. He has a bachelor's degree in education from Arkansas State University. He previously taught fifth grade at Parkin and fourth grade at Salem. He also taught at Twin Rivers, where he taught fourth through sixth grades, as well as K-12 health and P.E., junior high social studies and keyboarding. He has also coached peewee basketball, junior and senior high basketball, baseball, softball, track and cross country. He and his wife, Monica James, live in Portia. They have two grown sons, Morgan James-Puckett and Logan James-Puckett, wife, Jessica, and son, Landon, who is two. Stephanie Greer of Hoxie teaches first grade. A native of Hoxie, she holds a bachelor's degree in early childhood education. She and her husband, Jeff, have three children, Kady, seven, Nadia, three, and Piper, one. Lisa Vankirk , new second-grade teacher, holds a bachelor's degree in early childhood education from Williams Baptist College. A native of Pocahontas and Maynard, she worked as an interventionist at Hoxie last year. She and her husband, Jerry, live in Walnut Ridge. They have two children, Jonathon, 17, and Krista, 12. Christi Spradlin of Hoxie is a new kindergarten teacher. She is a native of Pineville, La., and holds a degree in psychology and learning K-8 from Free Will Baptist Bible College in Nashville. She previously taught first grade at Davidson Academy and was the extended care director at Woodbine Christian Academy. She has also worked as a paraprofessional at Walnut Ridge. She and her husband, Toby, have three children, Chase, 13, Chandler, nine, and Cooper, five.
