Lady Mustangs record winsNathan Hibbard
The Hoxie Lady Mustangs defeated Cedar Ridge in senior high volleyball action Thursday at Hicks Gymnasium. Hoxie won the match in three games, 25-10, 25-6, 27-25.
Alyssa Coggins was four-of-four from the service line, with two aces, and had six kills and an assist. Brianna Liscomb had 12 kills and an assist. Maddison Woodard was 14-of-15 from the line, with 11 aces and a kill. Amanda Whaley was eight-of-nine serving, with seven aces, one kill and 26 assists. Kayla Ward was 10-of-10 from the line, with two aces, three digs and two kills. Kelsey Lewis was eight-of-eight from the line, with four aces and nine kills, and Sarah Manis had five digs.
The Lady Mustangs traveled to Jonesboro to face Ridgefield Christian on Sept. 7.
Hoxie won the senior high match 25-14, 25-22, 25-13.
Coggins had six aces and three kills. Lewis was 11-of-12 serving, with eight aces and six kills. Liscomb was four-of-four from the line, with three aces and eight kills. Woodard had eight aces and two kills. Whaley had four aces and 15 assists. Ward was four-of-four from the line, with an ace and two kills.
Ridgefield Christian won the junior high match 25-23, 25-15.
For Hoxie, Courtney Sears was nine-of-10 from the service line, with five aces, a dig and six kills. Grace Hall was four-of-six serving, with three aces, a dig and a kill. Maria Fry had a kill. Krista VanKirk had five assists, and Zoe Wilfond had two assists.
