"I have lived in and around Hoxie most of my life, and our three children went through the Hoxie Schools. My husband and I and our three children farmed for many years before we moved to town.
"On the farm, we all learned to work hard. I was a welder for 18 years, so I do know what hard work is. I will do my best to help people and do what is best for them."
"I currently work as a volunteer at the Walnut Ridge Community Center, serving noon meals to senior citizens. I see the needs of the elderly people of this community every day. I see about my neighbors, and I try to help those who are sick.
"I am asking for your vote. Please put a hard-working woman in as your mayor. Hoxie has never had a woman mayor, and I would be honored to serve the citizens of Hoxie."
