Harps to close by Oct. 15J. Max Van Hoose, vice president of store planning for Harps, announced last Wednesday that the Walnut Ridge store will be closing.
"The specific date of the store closing will be determined in the next couple of weeks, but will most likely occur before Oct. 15," Van Hoose said.
According to Van Hoose, a variety of market conditions have led to a continuing decline in the store's performance, which ultimately led to this decision.
"Harps has been part of the Walnut Ridge community since the early 1970's and we regret having to exit the market," said Van Hoose. "We certainly appreciate the patronage of our customers over those many years, and our store staff who were devoted to making the store successful."
The Walnut Ridge store employed a total of 21 full- and part-time employees.
