Logan Joseph Jones

Josh and Erica Jones of Paragould have announced the birth of their first child, a son, on Aug. 26, 2010, at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jonesboro. The baby weighed seven pounds, two ounces, and has been named Logan Joseph Jones.

Grandparents are Tara Winberry of Piggott, Mike and Julie Winberry of Hoxie and Don and Tina Jones of Hornersville, Mo.

He is the great-grandson of Howard and Bonnie Winberry of Mauldin, Mo., Mary Ann Hopkins of Piggott, and Jim and Shirley Blackburn and Don and Mary Buck, all of Hornersville, Mo.

Weddings

Gray ~ Maxie

James and Vanessa Gray of Sedgwick and Mark and Sandy Gentry Price of Sylvester, Ga., have announced the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Shana Diane Gray, to Cody Don Maxie, son of Cindy Maxie of Hoxie and the late Don Maxie.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mary Gray of Walnut Ridge and the late Rev. Luther Gray and Rex and Ellen Gentry of Walnut Ridge and the late Geraldine Gentry. She is a 2003 graduate of Black Rock High School and is a cosmetologist at Indulge Salon and Day Spa in Walnut Ridge.

The prospective groom is the grandson of Robert and Glenda Neely of Strawberry, the late Alvie Maxie and the late Orville and Lucille Mayhan. He is a 2002 graduate of Hoxie High School and is employed by Fed-Ex.

The couple will exchange vows on Sept. 25 at 4 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ in Pocahontas. All family and friends are invited.

Stuck ~ Lamance

Cindy Stuck of Pampa, Texas, has announced the engagement and forthcoming marriage of her daughter, Robin Stuck, to Travis Lamance, son of Leonard and Julie Lamance of Bluewater, N.M.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Terresa Snow of Pampa, Texas, and the late Don Snow and the great-granddaughter of Inez Kennedy and Marie Redwine. She is a graduate of Lynn High School and works at Happy State Bank.

The prospective groom is the grandson of Gene and Connie Marsing and Varna Lamance, all of New Mexico, and the late Charles Tracy Lamance. He is employed with English Field Aviation.

The couple will exchange vows on Oct. 16 at 2:30 p.m. at Conway Church in Panhandle, Texas.

Obituaries

Dana Leland Jones

Dana Leland Jones, 52, of Alicia, died Aug. 31, 2010, at St. Bernards in Jonesboro.

He was a lifelong resident of Alicia and a farmer. He attended the Cache River Pentecostal Church in Sedgwick.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leland and Alma Joyce Jones; and his grandparents.

Survivors include his wife, Lavonda Jones; two sons, Blake Jones and wife Beth, Alicia, and Logan Hall, Jonesboro; a brother, Timothy Jones, Alicia; a sister, Kaye Gambrel, Rockford, Ill.; the entire Ball family; and a future granddaughter, Avery.

Funeral was Friday at 2 p.m. at House-Gregg Funeral Home with Rick Hart officiating. Burial was in Strangers Home Cemetery near Alicia.

Pallbearers were Danny Woods, Tommy Householder, Dennis Smith, Vincent Baker, Marty Counts and Donnie Jacobs. Honorary pallbearers were Bill Looney, Terry Jones, David Baker, Jack Davidson, Jim Finch and Michael Householder.

William Alpha McCall

William Alpha McCall, 72, of Walnut Ridge, died Sept. 3, 2010, at St. Bernards in Jonesboro.

Born Jan. 25, 1938, in Poyner, Mo., he was a retired science teacher, having taught at Walnut Ridge High School, Williams Baptist College and Black River Technical College. He was of the Southern Baptist belief.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Conna Rozelle McCall; his parents, Robert Arlan and Conna Mae Spencer McCall; four brothers and a sister.

Survivors include three sons, Bill McCall and wife Connie, Benton, Jim McCall and wife Deanna, Seven Lakes, N.C., and Tony McCall of Walnut Ridge; a brother, Lewis McCall, Alameda, Calif.; and six grandchildren.

Funeral is Thursday at 3 p.m. at the Old Walnut Ridge Baptist Church with Rev. Bill McCall officiating. Burial will be in Lawrence Memorial Park under the direction of Bryan Funeral Home.

Visitation is tonight from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Emanuel Wayne "Sonny" Segraves

Emanuel Wayne "Sonny" Segraves, 71, of Pocahontas, stepfather of Darrell Young of Walnut Ridge and Ronnie Young of Egypt, died Sept. 2, 2010, at St. Bernards in Jonesboro. Burial was Saturday in Masonic Cemetery at Pocahontas under the direction of McNabb Funeral Home.

Conelius Treatenburg

Cornelius Treatenburg, 65, of Walnut Ridge, died Sept. 3, 2010, in Jonebsoro.

Born Dec. 18, 1944, near Lynn, he was retired from V&B Manufacturing Co. in Walnut Ridge.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earnest and Ethel Whitlow Treatenburg.

Survivors include a brother, Jennings Treatenburg, Jonesboro; and a neice Erin Treatenburg, Jonesboro.

Graveside service was Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Dry Creek Cemetery, near Lynn, with Warner Allen officiating. Bryan Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
