Bobcat golf team sees action

The Walnut Ridge High School golf team competed in a tri-match Aug. 24 at Big Creek Country Club near Manila.

Manila shot a score of 126 to edge Brookland by one stroke. Walnut Ridge was third with a score of 138.

Individually for the Bobcats, David Ryan and Rob Rainwater each shot a 43, and Clay Hufstedler added a 52.

The Bobcat golf team also participated in a four-team match on Aug. 23 at the Trumann Country Club.

Host Trumann won the event with a score of 115, followed by Highland with a 125. Walnut Ridge finished third, with a score of 138, and Bay was fourth with a 153.

David Ryan led the Bobcat golfers with a 41.
