Hoxie golfers compete
in two matches

The Hoxie High School boys and girls golf teams were in action at the Victory Lake Golf Course in Corning on Thursday.
Piggott won the boys team event with a score of 117. Tuckerman was second with a 135, while Corning was third with a 138. Hoxie finished fourth with a team score of 145, followed by Marmaduke with a 158.
Corning won the girls team competition with a 173, while the Lady Mustangs were second with a 178.

The Hoxie golfers competed in a match at Sugar Creek Country Club on Aug. 23.
In boys competition, Manila finished first with a team score of 112. Hoxie shot a 138 to edge host Piggott by one stroke and take second place. Corning was fourth with a 144, and Marmaduke shot a 175.
In girls competition, Corning edged Piggott by a single stroke 179 to 180. Hoxie placed third with a score of 182.
