Haskins wins photo contestPaula Haskins of Walnut Ridge is the best of show winner in this year's Times Dispatch Summertime Photo Contest with a photo that also took first place in the Summer Scenes category.The contest had a total of 388 entries, which were judged in 11 categories by Arkansas State University's Ernie Rice, photo technician/photographer; Dr. Jack Zibluk, associate professor of journalism; and Megan Heyl, photojournalism student. Other winners in the Summer Scenes category were: second place, Mary Horton of Black Rock; third place, Carol Lay of Springfield, Mo. Those winning in other categories were: Expressions of Summer ~ first place, Deanna Martin of Black Rock; second place, Cindy Franks of Walnut Ridge; third place, Brittany Sellers of Walnut Ridge. Wet & Wild ~ first place, Bethany Gray of St. Louis; second place, Patsy Bennett of Hoxie; third place, Warren Gatrel of Black Rock. Fishing ~ first place, Susan Doyle of Walnut Ridge; second place, Jenny Andrews of Walnut Ridge; third place, Shannon Smith of Minturn. Summer Snacks ~ first place, Simone Leatherberry of Cabot; second place, Sandy Bristow of Vicksburg, Miss.; third place, Sara Farmer of Walnut Ridge. Sand & Surf ~ first and second place, Laura Burns Golden of Little Rock; third place, Kristi Wiggins of Little Rock.
