House announces for WR mayor
"My family and I appreciate the majority support you, the voters of Walnut Ridge, gave me as I sought political offices in the past. Now, I come asking you to elect me your next mayor. We have a wonderful delta city that needs new direction, and I want to lead it to progress for now and for the future. "This is how we can do it:
"When properly promoted to outside business and industry, these assets will help convince them to come here. I will ask all of these entities to come together for the common good of our city and its citizens. My administration will be one of teamwork. "I have no ax to grind. I want one job, that of mayor. I will make sure we have good department heads and will delegate to them. I believe in efficiency in government, and I will reward our employees for a job well done. Our police will be given authority to do their job without interference from the mayor's office. Our streets and neighborhoods will be safe. Drug dealers will be forced out of our town. Property values must be protected against meth makers. "I will be dedicated to seeing that we have good drinking water. I will set forth a 10-year street paving program. Our park and sports complex will be improved and promoted to generate revenue and to better serve our youth. Volunteerism will again be rewarded. I will work with our fire department to keep the excellent fire rating for our city. I will work to finish the Highway 67 freeway and the four-laning of Hwy. 412 from Crowley's Ridge. "Most of all, I will work every day to bring industry and business to our city. I will appreciate your vote and support in the November election."
