FAIR CATALOG DEDICATED TO LATHAM ~ James Ratliff (right), president of the Lawrence County Fair Board, shows County Judge Alex Latham the dedication honoring him in this year's fair catalog. The dedication states, "Judge Latham, during his tenure as county judge, has been very supportive of the Lawrence County Fair." Latham is completing his 11th term as county judge and did not seek re-election. This year's fair is set for Aug. 17-21.

Intermodal
Authority hires
attorneys, receives updates

The Northeast Arkansas Intermodal Authority met Thursday at Black River Technical College in Pocahontas and hired attorneys to represent and assist them in endeavors to bring new jobs to Northeast Arkansas. They also received updates from board members who visited facilities in Russellville and Pine Bluff, similar to what Integrated Renewable Resources would like to build at Hoxie.
