Hoxie council adopts policy

Aldermen voted to approve two resolutions during a special meeting of the Hoxie City Council on Monday night.

The first resolution passed allows Walnut Ridge Police Officers to have arresting authority anywhere in the city of Hoxie as long as they first have permission and are working at the request of or with the permission of the Hoxie Police Department.

The second resolution passed authorizes Mayor Donnie Roberts to apply for a GIF Fire Protection Grant for funds on behalf of the Hoxie Fire Department. The grant requested is to be for $50,000 and would be used to help obtain a mini-pumper truck.

The aldermen in attendance were Karen Williams, Kenneth Quarry, Tim Taylor and Sherry Moore.
