Housing authorities
to receive grants
According to U.S. Senators Blanche Lambert Lincoln and Mark Pryor and U.S. Representatives Marion Berry, Vic Snyder and Mike Ross, two Lawrence County housing authorities have been awarded grants by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) under its Capital Fund program.
Hoxie will receive $26,740 and Imboden will receive $54,008 to develop, modernize and better manage public housing units.
"Having a safe and secure place to live is a critical component of building a stable and productive life," Lincoln said. "I am pleased that Arkansas's housing authorities will use this funding to expand and improve public housing for families in need throughout our state."
"This funding ensures that Arkansas can make the improvements needed to adequately maintain public housing for our hardworking families and community members," said Snyder. "These improvement projects will also help create jobs in these communities."
