WR, Hoxie have great
walking, biking options

Walnut Ridge and Hoxie now offer a lot of good options for walkers, runners and bicycle riders. Not only do the options offer healthy recreation, but they are also a lot of fun.

The Rails to Trails path, located on the former Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad spur, starts in the center of Hoxie and continues through Walnut Ridge. It will eventually extend to College City. The trail offers a pleasant walk or bicycle ride, and two benches have recently been installed along the track in Hoxie. Walkers and riders are reminded to stop for oncoming traffic at intersections, but this is not much of an inconvenience.

The Walnut Ridge and Hoxie schools both offer their tracks to walkers or runners in the community, and it is not uncommon to see walkers on those tracks.
