Lawrence County voters came out in full force Tuesday for the runoff election, nearly matching the voter turnout for the May 18 primary.

Local races for sheriff and county judge were decided.

advantage of
early voting

Early voter turnout for the runoff election was higher than anticipated, according to Sarah Dobbs, deputy clerk with the Lawrence County Clerk's office.

WR man found dead

The Lawrence County Sheriff's Department, with assistance from the Arkansas State Police, is investigating the death of a Walnut Ridge man who died from a gunshot wound.

LawCo. paving
projects slated

The Arkansas State Highway Commission has opened bids for improvements to roadways in Lawrence County, according to Commissioner John Ed Regenold of Armorel and County Judge Alex Latham.
