Early voting set
to begin for run-offs

Two local races and five state races will be decided in run-off elections to be held on June 8.

In local races, Dale Freeman and JR Rogers are vying for Lawrence County Judge and Jody Dotson and Glen Smith are the run-off candidates for Lawrence County Sheriff.

In the race for State Representative for District 73 the run-off is between Ronald Cavenaugh and James Ratliff.

U.S. Senator Blanche Lambert Lincoln and Lieutenant Governor Bill Halter are seeking the Senate seat held by Lincoln. The run-off for the seat for U.S. Congress District 1 is between Tim Wooldridge and Chad Causey.

Secretary of State candidates in the run-off are County Clerk Pat O'Brien and Mark Wilcox. Representative Monty Davenport and LJ Bryant are candidates for Commissioner of State Lands.

Early voting begins Tuesday and continues through June 7 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with no Saturday voting. On election day polls will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
