Lady Cats drop close
game to end season

The Walnut Ridge Lady Bobcats saw their softball season end with a tough 3-2 loss to Midland in eight innings at the 2A-2 District Tournament on May 3 at Stewart Park.
For Walnut Ridge, Staci Spargo had two hits. Alivia Hackworth had one hit and scored a run, and Beth Massey scored a run.
Hackworth took the pitching loss, allowing seven hits and recording five strikeouts in seven innings of work.
Sloan-Hendrix
Earlier in the day, Walnut Ridge defeated the Sloan-Hendrix Lady Greyhounds 11-1 to advance.
Spargo had three hits and scored three runs. Josie Wagoner and Amanda Emison each had three hits and scored a pair of runs. Christin Holsapple had two hits and scored a run.
Hackworth picked up the pitching win.
The Lady Bobcats finished the season with a record of 14 wins and 13 losses.
