Hoxie tracksters place at stateNathan HibbardStaff Writer Seven athletes from Hoxie High School competed in the 3A State Track Meet on April 29 at Prescott. Freshman Krista Coffell won first place in the pole vault with a vault of nine feet. Kaylee Rosson finished fifth in the discus and sixth in the pole vault. On the boys side, Craig Coffell placed second in the pole vault. Tim James also qualified in the event, and Jacob Wigton qualified in the shot put. The boys 4 x 100-meter relay team also competed. The team consisted of sophomores Kenny Mashburn, D.J. Kendrick, Sebastian Irvin and Devin Roberts. Chris Murray is the head track coach. He is assisted by Sean Cockrell.
In winning the state title, Krista Coffell qualified for the Meet of Champions held this past Saturday at Lake Hamilton. Coffell placed 10th at the meet with a vault of 9'2".
