Lady Cats drop two

Salem's Lady Greyhounds slipped past Walnut Ridge 4-3 in 2A-2 conference softball action Thursday at Salem.

For Walnut Ridge, Alivia Hackworth had two hits and scored two runs. Staci Spargo had one hit, and Beth Massey scored a run.

Hackworth pitched a complete game for the Lady Cats, registering eight strikeouts and one walk.


The Lady Bobcats dropped a home contest to the Midland Lady Mustangs 12-7 on April 28.

Josie Wagoner went 2-for-3 and scored two runs, and Amanda Emison also scored twice. Spargo had a pair of hits and scored one run, and Ashlyn Cothern had a hit and scored a run.

Hackworth pitched all seven innings and recorded four strikeouts and three walks.
