Hoxie announces
2010 honor grads

Hoxie High School Principal Jim McMullen has announced high honor graduates and honor graduates for 2010.

Valedictorian is Amanda Nelson-Cypret, daughter of Pam Thielemier and Bill Nelson, both of Hoxie. She plans to attend Arkansas State University in Jonesboro and major in accounting.

Nikolos Ryan, son of Timothy and Teresa Ryan of Walnut Ridge, is salutatorian. He plans to attend college and earn a law degree.

High honor graduates include: Jennifer Henderson, daughter of Tracy Henderson of Hoxie and Terry Henderson of Bono; Emily Moore, daughter of Paul and Sheila Moore of Walnut Ridge; Will Usery, son of Tammie Usery of Walnut Ridge and the late Neal Usery; Brittany Hembrey, daughter of Eddie and Linda Hembrey of Walnut Ridge; Alyssa McConnell, daughter of Jeff and Mitzi Moskop of Sedgwick.

Also, Jacob Wigton, son of Tom and Teresa Wigton of Powhatan; Shayla Coats, daughter of Greg and Cindy Coats of Hoxie; Chasity Becker, daughter of Sheila Whitley of Sedgwick; Blake Snow, son of Garrod and Kim Huckaby and Tim and Sheila Snow, all of Walnut Ridge; and Erika Manis, daughter of Randy and Lesa Manis of Walnut Ridge.

Henderson plans to attend Arkansas State University and major in psychology and become a child psychologist. Moore plans to attend Williams Baptist College for an early childhood education degree. Usery plans to attend WBC to major in biology and minor in youth ministry. Hembrey plans to get her RN certificate from Black River Technical College in Pocahontas and then transfer to ASU to become a nurse anesthetist. McConnell plans to attend BRTC to become a registered nurse.

Wigton plans to become an industrial electrician. Coats plans to attend WBC and get a degree in counseling. Becker plans to attend BRTC, transfer to ASU and become an ultrasound technician. Snow plans to attend ASU and pursue a career in the medical field. Manis plans to become a physical therapist.

Honor graduates include: Emily Lawrence, daughter of Butch Lawrence of Hoxie and Karen Lawrence of Walnut Ridge; Joseph Richardson, son of Joe Bryan and Jo Richardson of Hoxie; Tanya Sisco, daughter of William and Taunya Sisco of Beech Grove; Kassie Teel, daughter of Joel and Barbara Teel of Hoxie; and Courtney Sousa, daughter of Genea Cullum of O'Kean.

Lawrence plans to attend BRTC. Richardson plans to attend ASU and get a degree in agri business. Sisco plans to attend BRTC and attain a degree in speech pathology. Teel plans to attend BRTC and then transfer to a four-year college to obtain a degree in agriculture business. Sousa plans to attend BRTC and then transfer to ASU before going to UAMS in Little Rock to become a plastic surgeon.
