Construction on the new Northeast Arkansas Regional Archives facility has stopped temporarily while an issue regarding the location of the driveway is resolved.

Corrine Fletcher, superintendent of Powhatan Historic State Park, said the church that neighbors the property expressed concern that the property lines designated on their warranty deed are different than what the state's survey indicates.
The only thing that would be affected, according to Fletcher, is where the driveway would be placed.
"Our office (Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism) stopped construction last Thursday so that we can get this settled without causing the church members undue alarm," Fletcher said.
She said the parties involved are to meet with a surveyor this week, and she expects the issue to be resolved quickly.
"Since the problem doesn't involve the building itself, only where the driveway entrance should be located, I feel sure that construction will resume very quickly, if not immediately," she said. "The construction of the drive is not scheduled until almost the last thing."
