WEATHER DOESN'T HAMPER WALK ~ Gary Fowler gets a hug from his grandson, Drew Davis, at the Lawrence County Walk of Hope on Saturday. Fowler has been free of cancer for eight years. He, along with other cancer survivors, family and friends, participated in the annual walk in downtown Walnut Ridge despite inclement weather in the area over the weekend.

Storm leaves damage in east LawCo.

Northeast Arkansas was hit by heavy rains and strong winds on Friday evening, causing flooding throughout the county and extensive damage in eastern Lawrence County.

The storm system, which moved into the area around 6 p.m., had winds measuring between 75 and 85 miles per hour according to Marlene Mickelson, meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Memphis.

With the primary election quickly approaching, state officials are making the voting process as simple as possible. A new website, provided by the Secretary of State's office, allows registered voters the opportunity to access valuable voter information from the comforts of their own home.

Construction pauses on archives building

Construction on the new Northeast Arkansas Regional Archives facility has stopped temporarily while an issue regarding the location of the driveway is resolved.

Airport Commission meets regarding Morgan Buildings

The Walnut Ridge Airport Commission held a special meeting Tuesday morning to discuss their leases with Morgan Buildings.
