Bobcats are county baseball champs

The Walnut Ridge Bobcats won the 2010 Lawrence County Baseball Tournament with a 15-5 win over the Hoxie Mustangs Saturday at Stewart Park in Walnut Ridge.

Hoxie got on the scoreboard first when Zach Crisler led off the game with a single, stole second, and scored on a dropped fly ball to give the Mustangs a 1-0 advantage.

WR claims softball championship

The Walnut Ridge Lady Bobcats emerged from the losers' bracket to claim the championship of the 2010 Lawrence County Softball Tournament with a 9-5 victory over the Hillcrest Lady Screamin' Eagles Saturday evening at Stewart Park in Walnut Ridge.
