Lady Mustangs
defeat Piggott

The Hoxie Lady Mustangs earned their first win of the softball season with a 16-11 win over Piggott Thursday at Hoxie.

The Lady Mustangs trailed 8-2 after three innings, but scored six runs in the fourth to tie the game.

Autumn Nelson batted 4-for-5 with seven RBIs, while Chelsea Rosson went 5-for-6 and scored five runs for Hoxie. Hali Pratt went 4-for-6, and Cayley Rosson batted 3-for-5.

Nelson earned the pitching win, allowing five runs on seven hits.

"It was a great team effort," said Hoxie head coach Chris Wagoner.


The Lady Mustangs fell to Marmaduke 19-3 on March 9.
