The Walnut Ridge Bobcats used a 10-run fifth inning to overcome a 13-3 deficit and go on to defeat Pocahontas 16-14 in high school baseball Friday at Walnut Ridge.
Offensively for Walnut Ridge, Eric Wilcoxson had three hits and scored four runs. Luke Holloway had three hits and two RBIs. Heath Kennedy had three hits and scored three runs. Bennett Dudley had two hits and four RBIs. Curtis Jackson had two hits and three RBIs.
Walnut Ridge improved to 8-2 on the season.
The Bobcats defeated Rector 9-4 on Thursday at Rector.
Zac Carson earned the pitching win, allowing four runs on nine hits while striking out four.
At the plate for the Bobcats, Teague Phillips had two hits and three RBIs, while Kennedy batted 4-for-4 and scored a run. Wilcoxson was 2-for-5 with three RBIs. Holloway drove in three runs, and Chris Dickson and Carson each had two hits.
Walnut Ridge shut out Cotter 10-0 on March 15 at Walnut Ridge.
Curtis Jackson pitched a no-hitter to earn the victory on the mound. He allowed just one walk, while striking out seven.
Offensively for the Cats, Jackson batted 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Wilcoxson went 3-for-3, including a pair of doubles, had one RBI and scored four runs.
Tyler Dickson drove in three runs.
