Spring cleanups planned in AprilHoxie, Walnut Ridge and Lawrence County have scheduled spring cleanups in April.
Cleanup for the county will be held from April 5-10. Class IV dumpsters will be located at Bill Jones Wrecker Service at Powhatan and the Lawrence County shop on Highway 67, south of Hoxie.
Dumpsters will be available from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Monday, April 5, through Friday, April 9, and from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 10.
The dumpsters are for non-household waste, such as appliances and furniture. No tires, shingles, building materials, etc. will be accepted.
The city of Hoxie will conduct spring cleanup April 12-23.
Cleanup will begin on the northwest side of Midway Road and will continue southwest to the bypass, then cross to the southeast side of the bypass and continue northwest to the Brewer edition.
Materials must be separated into four categories, which include metal, brush, wood and junk items.
Residents are asked to place items by the street ready for pickup. No return trips will be made and items such as tires, chemical cans, batteries and paint cans will not be picked up.
Spring cleanup will be held April 12-24 in Walnut Ridge.
No tires, shingles, hazardous chemicals or paint cans will be accepted with the exception of paint cans without lids and completely dried up.
Citizens are asked not to put items out by the street before April 12.
A dumpster will also be available at the city shop on Saturday, April 17, and Saturday, April 24, from 8 a.m. until noon.
