Miss Mustang set at Hoxie

Hoxie High School's annual Miss Mustang pageant will be held on Saturday at 6 p.m. at the Walnut Ridge Community Center.

Sixteen girls are registered to compete and will be judged in three categories including casual wear, talent and formal wear.

Contestants are: Hannah Moore, Future Career Community Leaders of America, daughter of Clarence and Sherry Moore of Walnut Ridge; Shea Grissom, Hoxie High School Band, daughter of Dave and Dawnia Grissom of Hoxie; Courtney Jones, senior class, daughter of Melynda Lawson of Pocahontas; Bridget Russell, Spanish Club, daughter of Redda Russell; Kayla Ward, junior high ladies basketball team, daughter of James and Shannon Ward of Hoxie; and Kassie Arnold, Youths Against Destructive Decisions Altogether, YADDA, daughter of Bill and Tina Arnold of Hoxie.

Chasity Becker, FFA, daughter of Sheila Whitley of Sedgwick; Leslee Parrish, Beta Club, daughter of Shawn Parrish and Angie Parrish, both of Hoxie; Amber Scott, Art Club, daughter of Allen and Denise Scott of Hoxie; Brittnie Light, journalism, daughter of Jay and Nichole Light of Alicia; Amanda Simmons, Health Occupational Students of America, daughter of Ben Simmons and Annette Eubanks, both of Pocahontas; and Neely Ragsdell, Student Council, daughter of Vince and Tammy Ragsdell of Pocahontas and Shelly Brown of Evening Star.

Raven Davis, Library Club, daughter of Randy and Brande Davis of Hoxie; Shelby Smith, French Club, daughter of Tracy and Christy Gosha of Hoxie; Erica Cheatham, junior class, daughter of Eric Cheatham of Hoxie and Angela Ragsdale of O'Kean; and Jessie Berry, freshman class, daughter of Gerald and Angela Berry of Walnut Ridge.

Admission will be $5 for adults and $4 for students. Hoxie band director The Hoxie High School Band will sponsor the pageant. Corey Emerson is the band director.
