Hillcrest girls advance

The Hillcrest Lady Screamin' Eagles were defeated by Viola in the semifinals of the 1A-2 North District Basketball Tournament on Thursday at Viola.

Norfork

The Lady Eagles advanced to the semifinals by defeating Norfork 79-50 on Feb. 16.

Samantha Blevins led Hillcrest with 22 points and seven steals. Natalie Johnson scored 12 points, and Mackenzie Nunnally had 10.

Regional tournament

The Hillcrest girls will play in the Class A Region 2 Tournament at Calico Rock. The Lady Eagles will face Crowley's Ridge Academy today at 4 p.m.
