Hillcrest Sr. girls split wins

The Hillcrest Lady Screamin' Eagles defeated Mammoth Spring 43-25 in senior girls basketball Jan. 26 at Mammoth Spring.

The Lady Eagles led 28-18 at halftime.

Miranda Doyle and Samantha Blevins each scored 12 points to lead Hillcrest. Mackenzie Nunnally had nine points, and Tamara Evans had four. Katelyn Hammock, Natalie Johnson and Chinatsu Kadokura each had two points.

Lindsey Crews sank the game-winning free throw, as the Hillcrest junior girls defeated Mammoth Spring 27-26. The win clinched the 1A-2 North conference title for the junior Lady Eagles.

Shea Durham led Hillcrest with 16 points, while Crews finished with seven. Kathryn Tidwell added four points.

The Viola Lady Longhorns defeated the Hillcrest senior girls 50-42 on Jan. 25 at Viola.

Johnson led the Lady Eagles with 16 points. Blevins scored nine points and Evans had eight. Nunnally finished with four points. Stevie Howard had three points, and Doyle added two.
