Harris announces candidacy
Harris said she has enjoyed her tenure as treasurer for the past 14 years and is most proud of always having good audits and having the books balanced to the penny. She added that the biggest challenge in the office is to stay educated on the ever-changing laws. Harris is a member of the Arkansas County Treasurer's Association. She has received her 30-hour certification and 8-hour updates in the continuing education of the Arkansas County Treasurers Association. Harris said she has appreciated the confidence and continued support of the people of Lawrence County and will help in any way she can, noting that her office is open to residents. She and her husband, Larry, have two children, Kevin Harris and Kimberly McDermott. They also have three grandchildren.
